Analyse Your Pool's Water with EcO
Pool maintenance can be tedious. This is why our team decided to bring EcO to market. EcO is a smart, connected analyser that suits both pools and hot-tubs.
Just Let It Float
You just need to put EcO in the water after having followed the step-by-step guide. Using the iopool app, you will then be able to get in real-time readings: pH level, ORP or disinfection capacity, and water temperature.
Why ORP? Oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) or redox determines the general water quality of a swimming pool. It measures the overall level of sanitation.
- Improved precision;
- Comes with the free iopool app;
- 2-year warranty.
This Bundle Includes:
- EcO monitor;
- Start Guide;

Commonly Asked Questions
What about test strips?
Test strips are still useful to measure the level of stabilizer, water alkalinity and water hardness. The app will suggest you to perform test strips at the set-up stage and whenever it is needed.
What if I am not satisfied?
If you were not fully satisfied, you can use the 30-day money-back guarantee.
Can I use the monitor with non-iopool branded pool chemicals?
Sure. However, for the best experience, we recommend using our iopool pool maintenance chemicals. Why? Because the recommendation engine is designed around our products.
What is the lifespan of EcO?
EcO has a lifespan of 2 years, after which you can order and replace the monitor: replacement module. Buying this device extends the warranty for two more years.
What is the warranty period of EcO?
The EcO probe is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of purchase.
Do I need to pay for any subscription?
There is no subscription.
Can I access my data all around the world?
This is possible by purchasing an iopool Bluetooth / Wi-Fi Gateway (included in the EcO Start and Connect pack). By default, EcO uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to send data to your smartphone, so you must be near the pool (approx. 9 m).
What does EcO measure ?
The analysed parameters of the EcO probe are:
- Water temperature;
- Disinfection capacity (Redox capacity, ORP);
- pH (hydrogen potential).

I purchased the Ec0 smart water monitor for my in-ground backyard pool because I want to replace the weekly service guy who maintains the pool's chemicals.
I have not been able to get the probe to work and when I attempted to contact support I found that the nine-hour time difference between my pool in California and the support center Belgium meant I have to wait 24 hours between the steps of the support process.
When the package arrived I installed the app and followed the instructions to create my pool and connect the probe. The app reported that the probe connected and I tossed it into the pool. I also had purchased the wireless bridge and installed that. The bridge reported a strong wifi signal but it said it could not connect to the probe even when I held the bridge in one hand and the probe in the other. When I checked the app on my phone, it too said the probe was too far away. Again, even when I picked up the probe and held it next to the phone.
So I contacted support on the morning of May 21, not yet aware that support is limited to the hours of operation in Liege, Belgium.
I got a quick response to my first support request asking if the probe beeped when turned upside down. No beep I reported. And waited for a response. And waited.
And sometime in the middle of the night in California support said "Ok so this is normal since the probe is linked to the pool's profile." That didn't make any sense. But I followed the instructions to get a magnet (I got one of the stronger ones that hold stuff to the outside of my refrigerator door) and gently passed it over the upper left corner of the Ec0 probe. I was supposed to hear a double-beep and then toss the probe back in the pool and wait a half-hour. I didn't hear a double beep, but I tossed the pool back in the pool and waited an hour before checking the app. The app still reported that the probe was too far away. I alerted support to my findings and waited and waited and waited for a response.
The next morning I awoke to a request that I check that the iopool app had access to Bluetooth. Yes, I reported, it did. And I had to wait until the next day to be told they would send a replacement probe.
The replacement probe arrived six days later. I followed the instructions to "Change my Ec0." I gently turned the probe upside down (I heard a beep) and turned it rightside up (and heard a double-beep). The app started "Searching for your Ec0..." and then started "Ec0 activation." But then it returned to "Searching for your Ec0..." and then dropped back to the screen that says I'm too far away from the original probe. I tried this several times. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Always to the same result: the search for the probe is successful but the activation process fails which loops back to the search, which then fails and loops back to the original probe's status.
So I contacted support with this information and while I'm waiting for a response I am writing this review. I'm sure people in Europe get quick, comprehensive support. But in California, not so much. I may have to keep the pool service guy. At least he can be reached on the phone.
Had it for 2 weeks. Wish it was a little taller and bulkier so that the Betta skimmer robot doesn't eat it. Other than that easy to setup and monitor and accurate like the Phin used to be. So far I like it.
I want to make this review off of our experience with the Iopool Eco in our Bullfrog R Series spa (purchased 2021). Specs are 350 gallon, using the Frog Ease bromine system and following all instructions. Having used the Eco for about 3 weeks now, I LOVE this devise. We travel a lot and our pet/house sitters often enjoy using the spa while we are out of town. This allows me to keep track and assure the spa is in prime condition.
I like how the Eco updates every 15 mins; I wish it allowed you to use the “push” function to update whenever you pleased. This is not a deal breaker though, this devise absolutely keeps me up to date. The Eco takes the guesswork out of spa maintenance, even with a bromine system. I highly recommend, definitely worth the price.
The only questions I had were 1) how often do I actually need to replace the interior sensor and 2) how often is it in stock? I ask these due to the website stating the sensor needing replaced after 2 seasons…. I consider this to be 2 “years” per sé. I also keep checking the site to order replacement interior sensors to have readily on hand when needed, but the site keeps stating they’re out of stock. I think time will tell how often it needs replaced.
Overall- worth it.
I’ve had problems managing the chemistry in the swim spa. This makes it so incredibly easy! Highly recommended!!!
My device worked good for about two months. Then no connection. they advertise a 2-year warranty i don't know what it covers because customer service said my device was not covered and there was nothing more they can do. very disappointing
