iopool 6-in-1 Pool & Spa Test Strips – 50 Count

Test six essential water parameters with one strip

Keep track of your pool or hot tub water with iopool 6-in-1 Test Strips.

This 50-count pack provides a simple way to check six water chemistry parameters, including chlorine, pH, alkalinity, hardness and stabilizer levels.

Designed for chlorine- and bromine-treated pools and hot tubs, these strips offer convenient spot testing whether you use an iopool smart monitor or manage your water manually.

Use them with the free iopool app to scan your test strip or enter results manually. You can also perform a visual reading without the app using the matching reference color chart.

No EcO monitor, Wi-Fi gateway or additional electronic equipment is required.

What do iopool 6-in-1 test strips measure?

Each strip checks six water parameters:

  • Free chlorine: Measures the concentration of free chlorine in your water.

  • Total chlorine: Measures total chlorine, including free and combined chlorine.

  • Total alkalinity: Helps assess your water's ability to resist sudden pH changes.

  • pH: Indicates how acidic or alkaline your pool or hot tub water is.

  • Water hardness: Provides a reading of water hardness.

  • Stabilizer (cyanuric acid, CYA): Measures the stabilizer concentration in your water.

These are manual, color-based measurements. They do not provide continuous monitoring or measure water temperature, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), or salt concentration.

For salinity testing, use dedicated iopool Salt Test Strips.

Compatibility — who can use these test strips?

iopool 6-in-1 Test Strips are designed for:

  • Chlorine-treated swimming pools.

  • Bromine-treated swimming pools.

  • Hot tubs and spas using compatible chlorine or bromine treatments.

  • Pool and hot tub owners who want manual water testing without a connected monitor.

They also complement iopool smart monitoring solutions, including EcO Start + Connect.

EcO measures pH, ORP and temperature directly. Test strips provide additional information about water chemistry, particularly total alkalinity, hardness and CYA.

The strips do not connect directly to EcO or the cOnnect gateway.

For bromine-treated water, follow the appropriate reference and interpretation instructions.

When should you buy a separate 50-pack?

This refill pack is useful when:

  • You have used up the test strips supplied with your iopool starter pack.

  • Your iopool app requests an additional manual water test.

  • You want to check specific parameters after water treatment or maintenance.

  • You prefer occasional manual testing without buying a connected water monitor.

With 50 individual test strips, you can replenish your testing supplies without purchasing another EcO monitor or starter pack.

What's included?

  • 50 iopool 6-in-1 water test strips.

  • Compact packaging for storing your testing supplies.

Each strip is intended for a single water test.

A matching reference color chart is necessary for visual readings. Confirm that you have access to the correct chart before using the strips without the app.

How to use iopool test strips

No installation or connection to a device is necessary.

  1. Dip: Immerse one test strip in your pool or hot tub water, following the current instructions for the product.

  2. Read: Remove the strip and allow the test pads to react for the specified time.

  3. Choose your reading method:

    • Scan the iopool strip using the supported scanning feature in the iopool app, following the on-screen instructions.

    • Compare the colors against the matching reference chart and enter the results manually in the app.

    • Read the results visually using the reference chart, without the app.

  4. Finish: Dispose of the used strip after testing.

For additional guidance on manual result entry, visit How to Use the iopool App With Your Test Strips.

Follow the correct immersion and reading times for your strip version, as reading too early or too late may affect the results.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an EcO monitor or cOnnect gateway to use these strips?

No. These are standalone manual water test strips. An EcO monitor and cOnnect gateway are not required.

Can I use the strips without the iopool app?

Yes. You can interpret the results visually using the matching reference color chart. Make sure you have access to this chart.

Can the iopool app scan these test strips?

Yes. The iopool app supports test strip scanning, as well as manual result entry. Follow the instructions displayed in the app.

Can I use these strips in a bromine-treated hot tub?

The product is listed as compatible with bromine-treated pools and spas. Follow the appropriate bromine interpretation instructions rather than assuming chlorine and bromine readings are interchangeable.

Do these strips measure salt levels?

No. Salt concentration is not one of the six tested parameters. Use dedicated salt test strips for salinity testing.

Why might my strip chlorine result differ from my EcO reading?

Test strips measure chlorine concentration, while EcO measures ORP, an indicator of water's oxidizing potential. These are different measurements and cannot be compared directly. Learn more in our guide to Free Chlorine, Total Chlorine and ORP.
