What Does the cOnnect Gateway Do?
EcO communicates using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The cOnnect gateway receives its measurements and relays them through your home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

When the system is connected to the internet, you can check the latest available water readings and maintenance recommendations without being physically near your pool or hot tub.
The gateway does not measure pH, ORP, or temperature itself. Those measurements come from your EcO monitor. Data updates are periodic, not a continuous live stream.

Compatibility and Requirements
The cOnnect gateway is designed for compatible iopool EcO water monitors, including the monitors supplied with:

EcO Start: For compatible chlorine- and bromine-treated pools and hot tubs.

EcO Start SALT: For compatible saltwater pools and hot tubs.
For older EcO generations or previously purchased systems, confirm compatibility with iopool support before ordering.
To operate cOnnect, you need a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with internet access, Bluetooth coverage between EcO and the gateway, and the iopool app on a compatible iOS or Android device.
Important: A 5 GHz-only Wi-Fi network is not supported.

When Should You Buy cOnnect Separately?
This standalone gateway is intended for customers who already own a compatible EcO monitor and need to restore or add remote connectivity.
It may be useful when:

Replacing a missing or damaged gateway, after checking available support and warranty options.

Adding Wi-Fi connectivity to a compatible EcO installation that does not already have a gateway.
If you only need local Bluetooth access, an additional gateway is not necessary.

How to Set Up Your cOnnect Gateway

Choose a suitable location. Place the gateway near your pool or hot tub, ideally within approximately 33 ft (10 m) of EcO, with reliable Wi-Fi coverage and protection from rain.

Connect the hardware. Attach the external antenna, then power the gateway using the included USB cable and a compatible wall adapter.

Pair the gateway. Open the iopool app, select your pool or hot tub, and follow Devices > Gateway to connect the device to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

Check the connection. Follow the status lights and app instructions to confirm successful setup.

Do I need cOnnect if I already have EcO Start + Connect?
No. The US EcO Start + Connect and EcO Start SALT + Connect packs already include a gateway.
Can cOnnect work without an EcO monitor?
No. cOnnect transfers readings from a compatible EcO monitor. It does not analyze pool water independently.
Can one cOnnect gateway work with two EcO monitors?
Yes, in a compatible single-location setup such as the iopool Duo Pack, provided both monitors are within suitable Bluetooth range.
Does cOnnect support 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
No. The gateway requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with internet access.
